💻 ERP Architecture
The OCS/RTCS deducts credit from the subscriber's balance in real-time at the point of service consumption. Usage data (CDRs — Call Detail Records) is aggregated and fed to the revenue assurance system, which validates usage against network data and produces a daily revenue recognition journal. The journal moves the consumed amount from deferred revenue to the appropriate revenue account (voice, data, SMS). Revenue is reported by service type and geography in the management information system.

Auditors test the completeness of revenue recognition by reconciling CDR-based consumption data to the GL revenue entries. Revenue assurance reports (comparing network-generated traffic data to billed data) are key evidence. Test for any gap between network traffic and billed revenue — unexplained gaps may indicate fraud or system errors. Confirm that zero-rated traffic (promotions, free data bundles) is correctly excluded from revenue recognition.
