Practitioner & Systems Framework

💻 ERP Architecture

Set up each store account customer in the ERP with a credit limit, payment terms, and contact information. Generate a monthly statement for each account customer and send before the payment due date. Monitor account aging weekly — store accounts that exceed their credit limit or are overdue must be flagged and potentially suspended. Apply an ECL provision to aged store account balances.

⚠️ Audit Flags

Store account balances are tested for collectibility. Auditors will review the aging and assess whether an ECL provision is required under IFRS 9. Long-outstanding store account balances without collection activity should be written off or provisioned. ISTD will also want evidence that VAT output was declared on all store account sales.

📄 Required Documentation

Store account customer agreement (credit limit, terms), monthly sales summary per account, Accounts Receivable aging, ECL provision assessment, monthly statement sent to customer, and collection records (payment receipts).
