Recording the promotion as a discount rather than a reduced price preserves the full revenue figure for analytics. Management can see both gross revenue and the promotion cost separately.

The VAT base for bundle promotions is the net price actually paid — not the pre-discount total. ISTD may scrutinize bundle promotions to confirm VAT is calculated on the amount received, not the notional full-price value of all items. Ensure the POS applies VAT to the net cash amount after the bundle discount.
