💡 Accountant's Note

Overtime must be matched to the period in which it was worked. If a peak weekend falls at month-end, the expense belongs in that month even if paid next week.

Practitioner & Systems Framework

💻 ERP Architecture

Capture overtime hours daily in the POS scheduling system or a timesheet. At month-end, calculate overtime pay using Jordan's Labor Law rate (125% for the first two overtime hours, 150% thereafter) and accrue it if payment is in the following month. Include overtime in the SSC and income tax calculations — it is part of insurable/taxable salary.

⚠️ Audit Flags

Auditors check that overtime is calculated at the correct legal rate per Jordan's Labor Law. Paying flat overtime rates below the legal minimum is a labor violation. The SSC must be calculated including overtime in the base — operators who exclude overtime from SSC calculations will face SSC penalties on inspection.

📄 Required Documentation

Employee timesheet or attendance system records showing overtime hours, overtime calculation at correct legal rates, Accrued Wages reconciliation, payment in following month clearing the accrual, and SSC calculation including overtime.
